Jennifer and Steven McClaine opened up Poiema Salon and Spa on February 1st 2007. Over the years Jennifer has worked at two well known salons in Albany and owned A Touch of Paradise for 14 years. Jennifer taught as a Goldwell Color Educator in the Capital District for 3 years. She has been practicing as a hair stylist and color expert for 20 years now.

Education is a must. Every year we go to several classes to improve our skills and keep updated on the latest trends. We also create and design our own styles for our clients.

Steven has a degree in Business Administration from Suny Cobleskill and has worked in human services for over 17 years. One of his passions is in the advertising and marketing arena. He never really explored this until he married Jennifer in 2005 and they started to create the image and design for Poiema Salon and Spa. Steve works behind the scenes at Poiema and is always available to meet you and help you relax.
